The CVA and CarolinaVegan.org…

CarolinaVegan.org is a spin-off from The Carolina Vegan Association(CVA), which was originally organized to ”provide support and community for Triad-area vegans, as well as educational outreach to the non-vegan community.” After nearly a year of working with the CVA, we’ve decided to make some changes. Rather than being a social group of activists with monthly meetings, we’ve decided to take a different route.

We created CarolinaVegan.org as a one stop informational site for the Triad. We hope to eventually expand the content of this site to include a large portion of North Carolina, but baby steps. So what should you expect to find? Well for starters, we will work to maintain a list of vegan friendly restaurants in the Triad area and eventually provide specific details to what those options are. We will do our best to check with these establishments to ensure what they are calling “vegan” is just that. With that said, please be sure to confirm that what you are ordering is actually vegan. We’re not perfect, we make mistakes. Which is why everytime we dine out, we are sure to run through the basics when placing our orders.

This website will also provide links to some great vegan shopping, cooking recipes, nutrition, upcoming events, and literature consistent with our abolitionist mission.

CarolinaVegan.org maintains the same beliefs and ideals as the CVA, that promoting veganism as the only morally consistent way to respect sentient non-human animals.

Welcome to CarolinaVegan.org!!!

Hey all!

Welcome to the new CarolinaVegan.org! I’m still in the process of getting this page set up with information, but please check out some of the other pages from the links above and send your feedback. I’m hoping to get most of the content up by Dec. 9th. Of course from there, we’ll be increasing the site content, but the basics should be finished by then. In the meantime, if you have any comments or suggestions let me know. For those living outside of Winston Salem, please feel free to email some of your favorite vegan friendly establishments.

Best,

-Ian
